I grew up in Las Vegas, NV and have been involved with firearms and shooting for as long as I can remember. I started with rifle and for many years that was all I knew.
I met and married my wonderful wife Debbie while we were living in Nevada. We eventually ended up in her home state of Indiana. That was over 20 years ago as of 2018.
I am a hands on person by nature and have always made my living from the Auto Body industry. In 1998 my wife and I opened Diamond Collision Services. In the beginning I was the lead tech, later moving into a management role as the business grew.
As I began to have free time I filled it with shooting and working on my guns. I started to get requests to do work for others and Moore Gunworks LLC was founded.
Due to the limited amount of long range shooting in Indiana I began to add handguns to my repertoire. It became a passion & fascination with all things related to 1911’s.
The 1911 is unique among other pistols in the sense that it allows me to feed my OCD and can be built to exacting tolerances or can run off the shelf as a mass produced firearm.
A lot like building a race car.
Over the years and a lot of investment of personal time and money learning to build (what I consider) some of the finest most reliable 1911’s and 2011’s available both for sport and competition.
I am also a big fan of the 10mm cartridge and have built many 10mm’s in the 1911 and 2011 platforms.
